Field + Forest™ FAQ

What is Optimum Biosuitability™?

Field + Forest™ replicates the ancestral diet that dogs were born to eat. This means that it contains a variety of high-quality proteins, nutrient rich meats, wholesome fruits and vegetables with no added grains, gluten or unnecessary additives.

What is a Protein Centric Diet™?

The protein-rich Field + Forest™ diet incorporates the meat, organs and cartilage of animals in ratios that maximise the provision of nutrients that are naturally present, without the need for synthetic augmentation.

What does Guided by Nature™ mean?

The Field + Forest™ approach to formulation is simple. By learning from the natural diet of dogs and their wild ancestors, we have a perfect dietary blueprint. That’s why we let nature be our guide in every way.

What does Grain-Free Signature Recipe mean?

Our signature Field + Forest™ recipe contains no grain and has a high-protein content, with meat as the primary ingredient, balanced with healthy fruits and vegetables. While grains have made agricultural sense throughout history, there are so many dietary alternatives available today that we don’t need to depend on them. The Field + Forest™ recipes are inspired by a time before we and our canine family came to rely on grain. A time when we relied on nutritious meat, wholesome fruits and vegetables to sustain us.

What is the main difference between Field + Forest™ and other dog foods?

Field + Forest™ is prepared in limited, small-batch quantities, steam-cooked in its own natural juices with no added water. Whilst most other dog foods contain both grain and a low to medium meat/protein content, our signature Field + Forest™ recipes contain no grain, with meat as the primary ingredient. This high protein-based formula is of utmost premium quality and replicates a diet of ancestral origin – where dogs relied on prey for their dietary needs.

Does Field + Forest™ have any supplement vitamins and minerals?

Yes, Field + Forest™ contains added Vitamin A 15 000 |U/kg, Vitamin D3 1 500 |U/kg, Vitamin E 275 |U/kg, Vitamin B complex 200 mg/kg, zinc 100mg/kg, manganese 20 mg/kg, iron 125 mg/kg, copper 20mg/kg, iodine 1.5 mg/kg and selenium 0.5 mg/kg.

Does Field + Forest™ have preservatives or antioxidants?

Field + Forest™ does contain synthetic preservatives in terms of antioxidants (BHA and BHT) that are added with the recipe premix which maintains the shelf-life of 18 months. Natural antioxidants include Rooibos extract which functions as a powerful antioxidant and helps boost immune systems and promote blood circulation, while added cranberries and rosemary also contain antioxidants to help neutralise cell-damaging free radicals in dogs’ bodies.

Does Field + Forest™ have colourants and/or flavourants?

Field + Forest™ contains no colourants or flavourants and relies solely on its natural, wholesome ingredients and cooking method for its great taste.
