Why does 60% animal protein and meat, 40% natural fruits & vegetables and grain free matter?
Protein Centric Diet™
The ancestral diet of dogs would not have included the additives found in many of today’s foods, relying instead on the prey to cater to all their nutritional needs. Field + Forest’s™ protein centric recipes replicate this diet by using not just one, but a range of meat as well as the organs, bones and cartilage to providing complete and natural nutrition, without unnecessary extras. This provides diversity and truly holistic nutrition, maximising the provision of nutrients that naturally present, without the need for synthetic augmentation.
The result is a premium range of grain free dog foods that contain no less than 60% premium animal proteins, with meat being the primary ingredient. A range that provides complete and natural nutrition, without unnecessary extras – the way nature intended.
The protein-rich Field + Forest™ diet incorporates the meat, organs and cartilage of animals in ratios that maximise the provision of nutrients that are naturally present, without the need for synthetic augmentation. When creating Field + Forest™, we looked at the blueprint provided by the natural diet of dogs and their wild ancestors, and applied what we learned to our formulations for Optimum Biosuitability™.

Grain Free
Grains have been with us a long time. They spearheaded the agricultural revolution with varieties like einkorn, wheat, emmer and millet that could be stored for long periods. They were easy to cultivate in vast quantities and as such, they contributed to establishing flourishing permanent settlements.
Ultimately, while grains made sense agriculturally, and we’ve come a long way with them, there are so many dietary alternatives available today that we don’t need to depend on them. The Field + Forest™ recipes are Guided by Nature™, inspired by a time before we relied on grain. When we relied on nutritious meat and wholesome fruits and vegetables to sustain us.
